Apple Expected to Release AirPods 2 With Health Monitoring Features

Apple has launched its first true wireless earbuds – AirPods, back in 2016 alongside the iPhone 7 and the 7 Plus devices. It is notably apparent that AirPods are still the top-selling wireless earbuds – thanks to Apple’s ecosystem since they are supported across all the Apple devices out there. However, the much-anticipated upgrade those AirPods are long overdue already.

Several rumors were surfacing about the next-gen AirPods on the web lately. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had already predicted that Apple would launch the next-gen of the wireless AirPods this year. A new report from Digitimes has suggested that the AirPods 2 would be releasing within the first half of this year. Further, these 2nd-gen AirPods are expected to have a complete design overhaul along with health monitoring support as well, which seems to be very appealing. That’s because Apple had launched its Apple Watch 4 Series last year with an ECG support built-in, which is the first ECG consumer device to receive FDA clearance in the world.

Though the report claims that it surely would be a redesign with health monitoring features, it still yet to be known what exactly would the earbuds be featuring. Considering the size of the AirPods, which would undoubtedly be small in size, and not to mention it will presumably come with W2 chipset and water-resistance features – it will be quite amusing to see what Apple will come up with in these new AirPods. The wearables and wireless earbuds market has been rising rapidly all over the world – thanks to the fitness enthusiasts, let us hope Apple would bring a strong competitor in the wireless earbuds segment with health monitoring features.
