Vivo NEX 5G Prototype with Snapdragon 855 SoC Showcased

The smartphone maker Vivo is said to be working on a 5G version of Vivo NEX smartphone as China Unicom carrier from China shared an image of the Vivo NEX 5G prototype. Vivo NEX smartphone which is known for its popup camera was bought into the market early this year and has received good attention for its unique camera. The 5G prototype image of the Vivo NEX smartphone displayed at Qualcomm booth at Xinhua News Agency media conference.

Well, this upcoming 5G phone is powered with the latest Snapdragon 855 SoC which also includes X50 LTE model for 5G connectivity. The phone was also showcased at the China Mobile Global Partner Conference event in China held recently. The company has also confirmed that it has complete software and hardware development for commercial 5G smartphones and has planned to launch pre-commercial smartphone terminals in 2019.

There are other companies which are also gearing up to launch pre-commercial smartphone terminal in 2019. Oppo along with Huawei, Vivo, and Xiaomi are expected to showcase their first 5G smartphones at the upcoming MWC trade show scheduled in February. We might expect the upcoming Vivo NEX 5G smartphone to feature 10GB of RAM since Snapdragon 855 is capable of supporting it.
