Bose to Launch Audio-based AR Sunglasses for $199 in March 2019

Google Glass which is also known as Project glass is a Smart glass with a head-mounted display, that displays all the information in a smartphone-like hands-free format. The user had to communicate with the Google Glass via voice commands and also was equipped with a 5MP camera with the ability to record 720p HD videos. Well, now Bose which is well known for its audio products across the world is getting geared to bring its Smart sunglasses with built-in wireless earphones, called as Bose AR.

The Bose AR is said to be offering access to the world’s first augmented reality platform and will be costing $200. These smart sunglasses would not be offering the display as we have seen with the $1500 Google Glass. Furthermore, the device will use a 9-axis head motion sensor and GPS from the connected smartphone to understand where you are and in which direction is the user looking in. Frames will also be providing the informational soundtrack for the glasses.

Moreover, a German audio expert in a press release said that Frames “automatically ass a layer of audio, connecting that place and time to endless possibilities” for various things like learning, traveling, gaming, entertainment and few more. These things will be offered hands-free and clear-eyed. The Bose AR experience will be coming soon and more information about this gadget will be shared at the SXSW 2019, which will take place in Austin, Texas in the month of March.

Furthermore, Bose says, for audio experiences the small acoustic package is contained within the arm of the glass themselves and without using or connecting earbuds additionally. There will also be a microphone and a multi-functional button on the frame to enable voice controls for streaming music or to access your assistant. The device will provide 3.5 hours of playback and the preorders of these Frames will be commencing in January 2019.
