Samsung Rumored to Launch Galaxy Tab S5 Tablet with Snapdragon 855 SoC

Apple iPads capture a majority chunk of the tablet market share in the world. Unlike the Android apps, the iOS apps for iPads are optimized for the bigger displays. However, there are still a lot of Android manufacturers who come up with new launches every now and then. While most of the Android tablet makers just launch cheaper priced tablets, there are a few global brands like Samsung and Huawei who are still coming up with the high-end tablets.

There are already several Galaxy Tab models available in the market. Now, the company seems to be working on a flagship Android tablet powered by the 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform. It is clocked at 2.84GHz and comes coupled with Kryo 485 CPU and Adreno 640 GPU. The details about this new tablet were found in the Galaxy Fold’s firmware code. As the tablet is codenamed GTS5L, it might be named as Galaxy Tab S5.

Last year, the company launched the Galaxy Tab S4 right before the Galaxy Note 9 launch. Now, we can also expect the all-new Galaxy Tab S5 to make its debut in the month of August. Back in February this year, the company launched its first tablet in the Galaxy Tab S5 series called Galaxy Tab S5e. It sports a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display with WQXGA (2560 × 1600 pixels) resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio.

Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 67 Mobile Platform coupled with 4GB/6GB of RAM with 64GB/128GB of internal storage. It features AKG tuned quad stereo speaker setup and lacks the 3.5mm audio jack. It measures just 5.5mm thickness and packs a 7,040mAh battery. In terms optics, the Galaxy Tab S5e is equipped with a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie out fo the box with One UI skin on top.
