Honor View 20 (V20) with 25MP In-display Camera & 7nm Kirin 980 SoC Officially Launched
Earlier this month, Huawei’s sub-brand has unveiled the Honor View 20 (a.k.a Honor V20) smartphone in Hong Kong. Today, Honor has officially launched the Honor V20 along with Moschino special edition device in China. This is the first Honor device to launch with the new in-display camera sensor (usually called as a punch-hole display) that sits on the top left corner on the front. This is similar to what we have seen on the recently launched Samsung Galaxy A8s smartphone.
The Honor V20 that has been unveiled in China will be making the global debut as Honor View 20 in January 2019. Under the hood, the Honor View 20 is powered by the 7nm Kirin 980 octa-core processor. The phone additionally features the company’s new Link Turbo feature that supposedly offers uninterrupted download speeds that combines phone’s LTE and Wi-Fi network speeds simultaneously.
As for the storage, the phone is available in three different variants that include 6GB/64GB, 6GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB storage variants. The phone also features Liquid Cooling along with GPU Turbo 2.0 technology for an enhanced gaming experience. The company also newly introduced the GPU Cloud feature that allows you to play games remotely and currently supports games like Tomb Raider and Need for Speed.
For selfies, the Honor View 20 comes with a 25MP front-facing camera placed within the top left corner of the display. According to the company, the diameter of the camera hole on the Honor View 20 is just 4.5mm in diameter. As for the rear cameras, the Honor View 20 features dual rear cameras setup wherein the primary camera features a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor alongside the ToF (Time of Flight) 3D camera sensor.
The featured ToF camera helps in creating and capturing 3D images or objects for AR experiences. It is backed by a 4000mAh battery and includes a 22.5W Huawei SuperCharge power adapter in the box. Though the device comes with in-display camera, the company has opted for the rear-facing fingerprint sensor instead of the in-display fingerprint sensor. On the connectivity front, the Honor V20 supports Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, NFC and features a micro USB 2.0 port.
