Huami & Timex Join Hands to Develop Wearables
Huami has announced its partnership with Timex Group to develop new smart wearable products to uplift its global market share. Huami is a wearable brand which has been backed by Xiaomi and the company’s, Artificial Intelligence technology and manufacturing ability will be meeting Timex’s watchmaking capabilities to bring a new generation of smartwatches.
Wang Huang, who is the Chairman and CEO of Huami corporation has said that they will work to develop business models for promoting, marketing as well as distributing smartwatches to combine customer base and also expect to leverage each company’s distribution strengths across the global market both in offline and online channels.
Moreover, the deal is aimed to help both Huami and Timex to strengthen the presence of them in the markets like the US and Europe along with the emerging markets like China and India. Well, as all of know, Huami came into India with Amazfit Bip and Amazfit Stratos earlier this year.
The companies are also looking to include e-payments through their wearable devices along with developing value-added services that also includes, sports, fitness, swimming and other health-related services for its users with their next generation devices.
The President and CEO of Timex Group, Tobias Zeiss-Schmidt said that with the partnership of Huami, they will bring forward a new generation of smartwatches to disrupt the category. With the deep-rooted product development along with its craftsmanship capabilities for which it is well known for, along with Huami’s advanced AI technology along with sports and health care, they have the opportunity to bring cutting-edge wearable technology.
