Xiaomi Demos MI MIX 3 5G Variant Powered by Snapdragon 855 SoC
At China Mobile Partner Conference, Xiaomi has showcased its first 5G-capable smartphone with its Mi MIX 3 5G version. The Mi MIX 3 has been released recently into the global market, which was the standard 4G variant and was powered by a Snapdragon 845 SoC.
Unlike the prototypes, it is believed that this Mi MIX 3 5G is the industry’s first fully functional 5G enabled smartphone. Not only that, but the MIX 3 5G is also powered by recently unveiled Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855 chipset. The SoC has a new X50 5G modem, this, paired with Xiaomi’s antenna switching technology, is expected to bring speeds of up to 2Gbps.
At the event, Xiaomi showcased its Mi MIX 3 connected to 5G connectivity and has demonstrated 5G Internet browsing alongside video broadcasting as well. And, lastly, you should know that this still a demo variant of the Mi MIX 3, commercial release of the phone is yet to be known. We believe that it would release sometime in the mid of 2019.
