In the month of March, we have seen quite a few interesting smartphone launches all over the world. These newly announced smartphones will be hitting the market in April. A few smartphones brands have already revealed the launch dates for their upcoming announcements. Below, let’s talk about the upcoming smartphone launches for the month of April. The list includes the officially confirmed devices along with the ones that are spotted in leaks.
Huawei P30 & Huawei P30 Pro
Earlier this week, Huawei unveiled the all-new P-series smartphones at an event held in Paris, France. Both the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro smartphones will be launching exclusively on Amazon in India. As of now, the company hasn’t yet revealed the India launch date for its new flagship devices. Both the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro comes with Full HD+ AMOLED displays with waterdrop notch and 7nm HiSilicon Kirin 980 octa-core processor. There is an in-display fingerprint scanner on both these devices.
While the Huawei P30 sports Leica triple camera setup on the rear with 5X hybrid zoom, the Pro variant comes with Leica quad camera setup with 10X Hybrid Zoom. The devices also capture better photos in low light, thanks to the AIS and maximum ISO rating of 409,600 on P30 Pro and 204,800 on P30. For selfies, the devices sport 32MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. The Huawei P30 Pro also supports 40W wired fast charging and 15W Qi wireless fast charging.
Samsung Galaxy A90
Samsung will be launching the new Galaxy A smartphones on April 10th. A few days back, the company announced the Galaxy A20 and Galaxy A70 smartphones without revealing the pricing or availability details. The Galaxy A70 comes with Infinity-U Super AMOLED display and sports 32MP triple camera setup on the rear and 32MP single selfie camera on the front. Based on the leaks, the company might launch the high-end Galaxy A90 smartphone on April 10th.
It is mentioned to come with a true bezel-less display with pop-up selfie camera. Currently, the company is using the Infinity-U displays for the mid-range Galaxy smartphones and Infinity-O displays for the flagship Galaxy S series smartphones. The Galaxy A90 might come powered by the leaked Exynos 9710 octa-core chipset built on 8nm FinFET node. Even the Exynos 9820 SoC used in the Galaxy S10 lineup is also built on 8nm FinFET node. The Exynos 9710 will be the successor to the popular 10nm Exynos 9610 mid-range chipset.
Google Pixel 3a & Pixel 3a XL
Google is long rumored to launch mid-range pixel smartphones. Earlier, the devices are rumored to launch as Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 XL Lite. However, the recently released Android Q Beta 1 update revealed the names of these budget smartphones. The company will be launching these as Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL. According to the leaks, the mid-range Pixels will sport AMOLED displays with 18:9 aspect ratio.
While the Pixel 3a will be powered by Snapdragon 670 SoC, the Pixel 3a XL might come with Snapdragon 710 SoC. A few rumors suggest the Nokia X71 to make global debut as Nokia 8.1 Plus. As of now, there is no information about the other specifications of the device. Just like other Nokia smartphones, the Nokia X71 will also join the Android One family. It should be running on the latest Android 9.0 Pie out of the box.

However, the 10x zoom camera might be limited only for the high-end variant with Snapdragon 855 SoC.
The recently leaked image of the OPPO Reno smartphone shows no periscope zoom camera. We are expecting this to be the Snapdragon 710 powered base variant. While the Huawei P30 Pro with the similar periscope zoom camera is offering up to 50x digital zoom, the OPPO Reno might offer up to 60x digital zoom. The device will come equipped with an in-display fingerprint scanner and supports new VOOC 3.0 flash charge technology. Based on the rumors, the Realme 3 Pro will come with pop-up selfie camera and true bezel-less display on the front. Vivo V15 priced at Rs 23,900 is currently the most affordable smartphone to come with a similar setup.
Honor 10i
Honor’s latest mid-range smartphone Honor 10i was listed on the company’s Russian website. It is basically an upgraded Honor 10 Lite smartphone with better cameras. We expect the company to officially launch it in April.
