Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Mi Mix 2, and Mi Max 2 Started Receiving MIUI 9 Global Beta Update

During the Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite smartphones launch, Xiaomi also announced the MIUI 9 update for its smartphones in India. While the company mentioned to roll out the latest MIUI update in a phased manner, the Redmi Note 4, Mi Mix 2 and Mi Max 2 devices have already started received the beta updates. Since its still a Global Beta ROM, the users who opted for the beta updates will only receive the new MIUI 9 Beta Global Stable update.

Apple Sued Over Copying Dual Camera Technology

Last year, Apple introduced the dual camera setup with the iPhone 7 Plus. Even the newly launched iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X feature dual rear cameras. Now, an Israeli based startup called Corephotonics sued Apple over the infringement of its four patents related to the dual camera technology. The patent infringement case is filed in a federal court in San Jose, California. Out of the three iPhones with dual cameras, only the iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 8 Plus are listed under the patent infringement case.

Xiaomi Mi 6 Now Comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of Internal Storage

Almost 10 months after launching the Mi 6 in China, Xiaomi now released a new variant of the device with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It is priced at 2,299 Yuan (approx $350 / Rs. 22,500) and will be on sale during the Singles day celebrated on November 11th. Rest of the specifications remains same as on the earlier launched variant.

Google Assistant Update to Support Music Recognition Feature

With the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, Google added the music recognition feature to the Google Assistant. After being exclusive to the Pixel 2 devices for few weeks, Google now made it available for all the device featuring Google Assistant. After triggering Google Assistant, the user can simply ask “what song is this?” or “what song is playing?” to get the details of that particular song along with links to YouTube, Google Play Music and Spotify links of the song.

Twitter Enables 280 Characters Limit to All Users

Back in September, Twitter granted the 280 character limit for few of its users few users. According to the company, only 5% of tweets sent were longer than 140 characters and only 2% were over 190 characters. Today, the company decided to enable the 280 character limit to all users. It also said that there won’t be much change in reading experience with the new change. Just yesterday, two German users had tweeted 35,000-character long tweet using the exploits on the website.

iOS 11.2 beta and WatchOS 4.2 Beta Brings Apple Pay Cash Support

The users on iOS 11.2 beta and WatchOS 4.2 beta can send money to their friends and family using the new Apple Pay Cash feature. With this new feature, the iOS users can send or request money within the iMessage app. The received money will be deposited on a new Apple Pay Cash card and it can be used for payments via Apple Pay. This new feature is currently restricted only to the U.S market.

PayPal Launches Domestic Payments Support in India

As expected earlier, Paypal launched the domestic payments support today in India. From now on, Paypal can also be used for Indian transactions along with international transactions. It currently supports selected Indian websites like BookMyShow, PVR, MakeMyTrip, and more. The company also mentioned that it will be open to all the merchants starting January 2018. Now, there is also a customer service center for Paypal in India with multi-lingual support.
