HTC U11 Plus Launched with 6″ 18:9 Display, 12MP UltraPixel 3 Camera & 6GB RAM

The HTC U11 Plus is now officially launched confirming the earlier leaked design and specifications. It has been in the rumor mills for quite a long time. The U11 Plus is the first smartphone from HTC to feature the new 18:9 display technology. Even the HTC-made Pixel 2 came with the standard 16:9 display with thick bezels on the top and bottom of the display. Sony is the only major smartphone manufacturer who is yet to use the 18:9 displays. Talking about the HTC U11 Plus, it comes with the same liquid surface body as seen on the HTC U11.
The smartphone sports a 6-inch Super LCD display with Quad HD+ (2880 x 1440 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It even comes protected with the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top. With the higher 82% screen-to-body ratio, the device offers minimal bezels around the display. Apart from the display, both the HTC U11 & U11 Plus shares the same major specifications. Under the hood is the same Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 540 GPU. The HTC U11 Plus will be available in 4GB and 6GB RAM variants with 64GB and 128GB of internal storage respectively.
There is also a MicroSD card slot for expanding the storage technically up to 2TB. In the camera department, the device sports a 12MP UltraPixel 3 camera on the rear with f/1.7 aperture, PDAF, OIS, 3D Audio, and LED flash. For selfies, there is an 8MP camera on the front with f/2.0 aperture and 85-degree field-of-view. It runs on the latest Android 8.0 Oreo with HTC Sense UI on top. Along with the HTC Sense Companion, the device also includes Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. There is also HTC Edge Sense feature, where you can squeeze the frame to access the device.
It is backed by a 3,930mAh non-removable battery and comes with QuickCharge 3.0 fast charging technology. The circular fingerprint sensor is placed on the rear of the device. While the HTC U11 came with IP67 certification, the new U11 Plus now comes with IP68 certification. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack, but the company is bundling a USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter with the device. It measures 158.5 x 74.9 x 8.5 mm and weighs 188 grams. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and USB-C 3.1 port.
The HTC U11+ comes in Translucent Black, Ceramic Black, and Amazing Silver color options. The Translucent Black variant comes with the transparent body is exclusively sold via its online store. It will be available in Europe starting late November or early December for EUR 799 (approx $930 / Rs. 60,000). The company also confirmed that the HTC U11 Plus will not be sold in the U.S. Stay tuned for the Indian pricing and availability information of the HTC U11 Plus smartphone.
