Galaxy S10, S10+ and S10e devices expected to get Samsung’s 25W Fast Charge Support: Report

Fast charging for smartphones is the new USP for brands to promote their smartphones. Popular ones like OnePlus have been promoting their Dash Charging for quite a while now, and the new Warp Charge as well. Other Chinese OEMs like OPPO, Vivo, and Xiaomi have been bringing fast support in the budget segment smartphones as well, which is highly competitive in the country as of now. While the standard fast charge technology has been the norm now with charging supports for up to 40W, the other major Korean maker Samsung had also released its latest Samsung Galaxy S10 devices with charging supports up to 25W.

Samsung last month had launched its trio of Galaxy S10 devices – the Galaxy S10, S10 Plus, and the S10E. And, the 5G variant of the Galaxy S10 Plus as well. Except for the 5G variant, the trio devices actually had come with 15W fast charge support, and the 5G variant issued with 25W fast charging support out-of-the-box. Well, it appears the trio of the S10 devices might also get the 25W charging support via an OTA update early next month.

First reported by ITHome, Samsung’s Greater China President, Quan Guixian has confirmed that Samsung Galaxy S10 devices would be featuring the new 25W charging support through an OTA update in the future, which is expected to be early next month. Samsung Galaxy S10 trio devices’ users will need to have to buy 25W charging adapter after updating their firmware to utilize the new fast-charging support.

Moreover, the report further hints that in addition to fast charging, Samsung would also be bringing handheld long exposure mode for all the Galaxy S10 device cameras with the same fast charge update. Currently, the 25W charging support has been featured for the 5G Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus and the recently launched Galaxy A70 smartphone.
