Alcatel A5 LED & A7 Smartphones Launched Exclusively on Amazon India

During the MWC 2017 event held in February 2017, TCL-owned Alcatel showcased two new Alcatel A-series smartphones including Alcatel A3 and A5 LED. Almost 10 months after unveiling the Alcatel A5 LED, the company today launched it in the Indian market. Alongside the A5 LED, the Alcatel also brought the Alcatel A7 showcased during the IFA 2017. Both these devices are exclusively sold through Amazon India. The Alcatel A5 LED is priced at Rs. 12,999 and comes bundled with the LIGHTUP+ Mod. On the other hand, the Alcatel A7 is priced at Rs. 13,999.

Alcatel A5 LED

The Alcatel A5 LED comes with polycarbonate body featuring 5.2-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS display. It is powered by MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. There is 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded additionally up to 128GB via a Micro SD card. The physical home button on the front comes with an integrated fingerprint sensor. It still runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.

Talking about the cameras, there is an 8MP camera on the rear with f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP camera on the front for selfies and video calls. It also supports dual SIM dual standby and offers both VoLTE and ViLTE connectivity. The A5 LED is backed by a 2,800mAh lithium-ion battery that is rated to give up to 12.2 hours of talk time. It measures 146 x 72 x 7.7 mm and weighs 159 grams. The Alcatel A5 LED will be available only in Metallic Silver.

Alcatel A7

Compared to the A5 LED, the Alcatel A7 offers slightly better specifications. It comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display and is powered by 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6750T octa-core processor. The A7 smartphone also includes 4GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. Unlike the A5 LED, the A7 runs on Android 7.9 Nougat out of the box. The fingerprint sensor on this device is placed on the rear.

There is a 16MP camera on the rear with f/2.0 aperture and dual LED flash. For selfies, there is an 8MP camera on the front with 84-degree wide-angle lens and LED flash. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. The Alcatel A7 gets its juice from a 4,000mAh battery and is mentioned to give up to 22 hours of talk time. It will be available in Metallic Black and Metallic Gold color options.

The users will also get 20GB of additional data on Jio 4G network and a one-time screen replacement for free if purchased during the launch period (Nov 10th – 13th). Durig the launch period, the Alcatel A5 LED will come bundled with a free POWERUP+ Mod worth Rs. 3,999 and the Alcatel A7 users will receive the TCL Moveband fitness tracker worth Rs. 2,499 for free. Both the smartphones will go on sale starting tomorrow, i.e., November 10th.
