Apple Might Bring Two iPhones with OLED Displays in 2018
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Now in 2017, Apple finally introduced an iPhone featuring OLED panel. The new iPhone X sports an all-screen OLED display with an ugly looking notch at the top. Even the DisplayMate rated the iPhone X’s display as the best smartphone display. Though the iPhone X display panels are provided by Samsung, Apple might have tweaked it to look much better than the Samsung’s own Super AMOLED panels. Now, the well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from KGI securities informed Apple might launch two iPhones featuring OLED panels in 2018.
In case, the company continues to launch three iPhone models next year, then the smaller 4.7-inch iPhone might continue to use the regular LCD panel. On the other hand, the Plus variant will most probably feature an OLED panel with minimal bezels. The design of the upcoming iPhones will be based on the iPhone X with an edge-to-edge display. We can also expect the company to refine the current design for a cleaner look.
Apple is also looking to improve the data transmission using the redesigned stainless steel metal frame around the iPhone X. While the current iPhone X uses four parts for the metal frame, Apple wants to use more parts to build the frame for the upcoming iPhones. The two OLED iPhones will be competing with the two Galaxy S devices. Next year, we will be seeing the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus with Infinity displays from Samsung.
Talking about the Face ID, there won’t be any major changes to the Tru-depth camera hardware. However, the Face ID is said to be introduced to the iPad line up starting next year. The iPhone X comes in 64GB and 256GB storage options and is priced at Rs. 89,000 and Rs. 1,02,000 respectively.
