Huawei Might Relaunch Honor 8 Pro with 18:9 Display at MWC 2018

Apart from being the No.1 smartphone brand in China, Huawei is also growing its market presence in the European markets. On the other hand, it’s subbrand Honor has a worthy presence in markets like India and Southeast Asia. Now, the company seems to feel that Honor as an exclusive brand isn’t making enough progress in the Western market. At the upcoming Mobile World Congress, Huawei might launch the year-old Honor smartphone with Huawei branding.
According to Evan Blass, the Honor 8 Pro will be relaunched at the MWC 2018 as a Huawei smartphone. Earlier to this, we have seen several Huawei smartphones relaunched with Honor branding. Before making its international appearance, the Honor 9i was first launched in China as Huawei Nova 2i. Even the Honor 8 Pro was originally launched as Honor V9 in China. Now, it interesting to see the Honor smartphone relaunching with Huawei branding.
As of now, there is no information about the naming of this new Huawei smartphone. Talking about the specifications, we don’t expect to see any major changes except featuring the FullView display with 18:9 aspect ratio. It might even come with the Android 8.0 oreo based EMIUI 8.0 out of the box. The Honor 8 Pro came with a 5.7-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display and is powered by Kirin 960 octa-core processor.
It packs 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage that can be further expandable via a MicroSD card. In terms of optics, the Honor 8 Pro featured dual rear camera setup with a 12MP RGB sensor and a 12MP Monochrome sensor. For selfies, there is an 8MP front-facing camera.
