Nokia 1 Android Go Smartphone Launched in India for Rs. 5,499
At the MWC 2018, HMD Global announced the Nokia 1 Android Go smartphone alongside the several other Android One smartphones. It is now launched in India for Rs. 5,499 and comes in Warm Red and Dark Blue color options. The device will go on sale starting March 28th and the Xpress On covers will be available from next month. These covers are priced at Rs. 450 and will be available in Azure and Grey or Yellow and Pink packs.
The device runs on the new Android Oreo (Go edition), the liter variant of Andoird OS. It comes with a 4.5-inch IPS display with FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the MediaTek MT6737M quad-core clocked at 1.1GHz and comes coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The device sports a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front camera. It will be running on Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) out of the box.
The device measures 133.6 x 67.78 x 9.5 mm and weighs 131 grams. It is backed by a 2,150mAh battery and offers basic connectivity options including 4G VoLTE. Just last week, Lava launched the first Android Go smartphone in India. The new Lava Z50 is priced at Rs. 4,399 and packs similar specifications. While Lava partnered with Airtel for the cashback offer, the Nokia 1 comes with Rs. 2,200 cashback offer from Reliance Jio.
Additionally, the users will also receive 60GB of 4G data for free from Jio. However, there are many powerful smartphones from the brands like Xiaomi at a slightly higher price.
