Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Gaming Smartphone Now Launched in Europe
Xiaomi’s sub-brand Black Shark launched its third-gen gaming smartphone Black Shark 2 in China. A couple of weeks after its debut in China, the now launched it in Europe. Black Shark also confirmed to launch its latest gaming smartphone in the Indian market, but the launch date is not yet revealed. The Black Shark 2 with 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage is priced at GBP 559 in the UK and EUR 549 in the other European countries. Coming to the high-end 12GB RAM variant, it costs GBP 559 in the UK and EUR 649 in the rest of Europe.
The device comes with a sturdy looking design and the glass + metal combination body makes it stands out from the crowd. It sports a 6.39-inch True View AMOLED display with Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) resolution. The notch-less display offers 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 430nit high brightness. Under the hood, the Black Shark 2 comes powered by 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform coupled with Kryo 485 CPU and Adreno 640 GPU. As mentioned earlier, it comes in 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB storage options.
It also introduced the Direct Touch Liquid Cooling 3.0 system which can reduce the core temperatures by up to 14°C. The Black Shark 2 runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with custom Black Shark OS laid on top. There is also a dedicated hardware button called Shark Key for entering or exiting SharkSpace. Talking about the cameras, it sports 48MP + 13MP dual camera setup on the rear with f/1.75 aperture and a single 20MP selfie camera on the front with f/2.0 aperture. It is backed by a 4,000mAh non-removable battery and supports 27W fast charging.
The Black Shark 2 measures 163.61 x 75.01 x 8.77 mm and weighs 205 grams. It also comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, dual frequency GPS and USB Type-C port. While there is no 3.5mm audio jack on this device, the company is providing 3.5mm headphone jack to USB Type-C adapter within the box.
