Fitbit Versa Smartwatch & Ace Fitness Band Goes Official
Earlier this month, the all-new Fitbit Versa smartwatch leaked in all glory. Now, it has been officially unveiled alongside the Fitbit Ace fitness band. While the modern looking Fitbit Versa smartwatch costs $199, the Fitbit Ace fitness band for kids is priced at $99. Both these new Fitbit products will be available only from Q3 2018. Coming to the Indian market, the Fitbit Versa is mentioned to cost Rs. 19,999 and will be sold via online stores, Reliance Digital, Croma, Helios and others.
The Fitbit Versa comes with an anodized aluminum case, and the company announced several bands priced between Rs. 2,499 to Rs. 8,999. There is also a Fitbit Versa Special Edition that comes with lavender or charcoal woven band with rose gold or a graphite aluminum case respectively. Since the woven bands are not water resistant, the company is also offering a black Classic accessory band in the box for swimming.
It looks modern with rounded square display and is mentioned to be lighter than the Ionic. The Versa comes with the latest Fitbit OS 2.0 onboard and includes a new female health tracking feature. While the female health tracking feature will be available on-device on Ionic and Versa, it will be available to all the Fitbit users via Fitbit app starting May this year. The quick replies feature will also be available for the users who paired the Versa with their Android smartphone.
It is also swim-proof with the water resistant rating up to 5 ATM. Instead of the built-in GPS, the Fitbit Versa will be using the GPS information from the connected device. It is mentioned to offer 15+ exercise modes along with 24/7 heart rate tracking and swim tracking. The Versa also supports NFC-based Fitbit Pay and will give 4+ days of battery life. The Fitbit Versa is also future proof with the built-in SpO2 sensor that can give even more advanced health-related data.
The touchscreen display on Versa comes with up to 1,000 nits of brightness for better viewing even under the direct sunlight. It is said to be compatible with Android, iOS and Windows devices. Talking about the Fitbit Ace, the company is targeting the kids aged 8+ years with this fitness band. As of now, the company is yet to confirm the availability of the Fitbit Ace in the Indian market. It is also water resistant and is mentioned to give 5+ days of battery life.
There is no heart rate sensor on the Ace and it can only track the steps, active minutes, and sleep. Fitbit is also adding the new parent view and kid view options within the app. As of now, there are ten different clock faces available for the Fitbit Ace. It will be available in Electric Blue and Power Purple color options. The Fitbit Ace is currently available to pre-order in the U.S for $99.fitb
