Honor Magic 2 Powered by 7nm Kirin 980 SoC Could Launch on October 26th

At IFA 2018, Honor announced to launch the Honor Magic 2 as the successor to Honor Magic smartphone launched in December 2016. The company also confirmed the device to come powered by the all-new HiSilicon Kirin 980 octa-core processor built on 7nm FinFET process. While the company officially confirmed to launch the Honor Magic 2 in the month of October in China, the newly leaked image poster image reveals the exact launch date as October 26th.

Take this with a pinch of salt as there are also chances that the leaked image might be fake. Talking about the device features, the company revealed the Magic 2 to sport full-screen AMOLED display with no bezels. It will also use the new in-display fingerprint scanning technology. While the Magic 2 will be first  Honor to feature an in-display fingerprint sensor, Huawei has already introduced this new technology with the Mate RS smartphone launched alongside the Huawei P20 devices.

Just like upcoming Mate 20 devices, the Honor Magic 2 might also support 40W wired fast charging and 15W wireless fast charging. The Kirin 980 SoC powering the Honor Magic 2 will be competing with the newly launched Apple A12 Bionic and the upcoming Qualcomm 800-series chipset. It comes packed with Mali G76 GPU and Dual NPU for onboard AI computing. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details about the upcoming Honor Magic 2 smartphone.
