A day after unveiling the Galaxy J4+ and Galaxy J6+ smartphones powered by the entry-level Snapdragon 425 chipset, Samsung today launched the Galaxy A7 (2018) smartphone. It is the company’s first smartphone to sport triple camera setup on the rear. While Huawei and OPPO are already selling triple camera smartphones, the upcoming LG and OnePlus smartphones are also rumored to offer the same.
The device comes with a glass sandwich design with 2.5D glass laid on either side of the metal frame. On the front, the Galaxy A7 (2018) sports 6-inch Super AMOLED Infinity display with Full HD+ (2220 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Under the hood, the device comes powered by an unspecified octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz. The device will be available in 4GB and 6GB RAM variants with 64GB and 128GB of internal storage.
There is also a MicroSD card slot for further expanding the storage up to 512GB. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box with Samsung Experience UI laid on top. Talking about the triple camera setup on the rear, the Galaxy A7 (2018) sports 24MP primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture, an 8MP 120-degree ultra-wide angle sensor with f/2.4 aperture, and a 5MP depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture.
For selfies, the device offers a 24MP fixed-focus sensor on the front with f/2.0 aperture. The device is backed by a 3,300mAh battery and should support adaptive fast charging. As seen on the Galaxy J6+, the fingerprint sensor on the Galaxy A7 (2018) is also placed on the right edge. Connectivity options include Cat.6 LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz & 5GHz), Bluetooth 5,.0 GPS, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, and MicroUSB 2.0 port.
While there is no dedicated Bixby button, the device will be supporting Bixby. It also comes with full-fledged Samsung Pay support.
