Apple Users Can Say ‘Hey Siri Hey Google’ to Use Google Assistant Hands-free

Google has been working hard to catch up with Siri on iOS since Google apps have always been of secondary choice as Apple offers its own offering for Music, Maps and many other features. But when it comes to a personal assistant, Google has a better reputation in many aspects for its different features. Now, the latest news confirms that Google has made it easier to the Apple users to access the Google Assistant via Siri Shortcuts.

With the introduction of support for Siri Shortcuts, today Google has made it easier to accesses Google assistant just by saying “Hey Siri” and then followed by “Ok Google”. Prior to this there was an option to add an Assistant widget on the left of the lock screen and the user can record the phrase like usual “OK Google” then whenever any comment is given to Siri, the Assistant will start listening for the comment automatically.

This new updated version of Google Assistant for iOS will support Apple’s shortcut apps and lets its user program a list of tasks to be performed using voice command with Siri. The user can programme the phrase “Hey Google” as a shortcut for launching the Google Assistant app and once it is launched it keeps listening for a command. The user can say “Hey Siri, Hey Google”, to open the Assistant and speak out the command to Google accordingly when the device is unlocked.

Moreover, you can set up Siri shortcuts for phrases that you generally use with the Assistant and use a custom voice command for a one smart home action.
