DJI OSMO Pocket 3-axis Handheld Gimbal Launched, Can Shoot Upto 4K 60fps
DJI, which is well know for its drones has announced its Osmo Pocket gimbal camera which is compact enough to fit in to the pockets as the name of the gadget suggests. The gimbal has been leaking from few days and now it is officially available for a retail price of $349 and will go for pre-orders starting today and will be shipping on December 15th. The new device made by the Chinese drone manufacturer weighs just 116 grams and stands just 4 inches tall.
The Osmo Pocket comes with a stabilised camera with 1-inch touchscreen and a 12MP camera with 1/2.3-inch sensor which is similar to what we have seen on Mavic Pro and Mavic Air. The camera is capable of capturing 4K videos at 60 fps and last for 140 minutes on a single charge. Moreover, the hardware stabilisation on the Osmo Pocket is more than that of digital and optical stabilisation in the smartphones that we use which is preferred for scenes with low lights and lots of camera movement.
The Osmo Pocket is capable of tracking the subject as you move around and you can also use motorised presets to create a smooth cinematic motion. You can also capture wide-angle panoramas with this 80-degree lens which stitches nine frames like a 3×3 matrix. It won’t be easy to monitor the video on the 1-inch touchscreen so the company lets user connect the device to a smartphone and use like a viewfinder.
The device uses DJI’s smallest 3-axis mechanical handheld gimbal and precisely adjust the movements in real time. From the DJI Mimo app, the user can share their stories with the community and it also has many editing tools templates and much more. The Osmo Pocket comes many accessories which are listed below.
