Alcatel 1x Android Go Smartphone with 18:9 Display Announced in India
At the MWC 2018, Alcatel unveiled the Alcatel 5, Alcatel 3v, & Alcatel 1x Smartphones. The Alcatel 1x is the first ever Android Go smartphone to be officially announced and it is also the only Android Go smartphone to feature an 18:9 display. Apart from the featuring new 18:9 display technology, the Alcatel 1x offers basic specifications as seen on other Android Go devices. Now, the company has announced to soon launch this new low-cost smartphone in the Indian market.
Earlier, we came to know that Micromax is going to unveil a new smartphone with 18:9 display priced at just Rs 6,666. While there is no confirmation, we expect the Alcatel 1x to be priced around Rs. 6,000. The device comes with a plastic built body with a 5.34-inch display on the front with FWVGA+ (960 x 48 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It runs on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) out of the box.
The Alcatel 1x comes powered by MediaTek MT6739 quad-core processor and includes 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. There is also a MicroSD card slot for expanding the storage up to 128GB. Since the device comes with Go version apps like Google Go, Google Maps Go and YouTube Go, there will be good enough storage available for the end user. It will also include the liter version of Google Assistant.
Among all the Android Go devices, the Alcatel 1x comes with better camera sensors. It comes with a 13MP camera on the rear and an 8MP camera on the front. Both the front and rear cameras come accompanied by a LED flash. It is backed by a 2,460mAh battery which should easily last for a day-long usage. Connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and MicroUSB 2.0 port.
The device measures 147.5 x 70.6 x 9.15 mm and weighs 151 grams. It supports dual SIM dual standby and offers VoLTE connectivity. Stay tuned on PhoneRada for more details!
