You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

The Huawei Y9 (2018) smartphone has been in the leaks from last few days. Now, the company has officially launched this new mid-range smartphone in Thailand. The Y9 (2018) is actually the same Mate 10 Lite that was launched last year in Europe. As of now, there is no information about the pricing or availability of this new device. However, it is mentioned to be available in Black, Blue, and Gold color options.

On the front, the smartphone comes with a 5.93-inch IPS display that offers Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. There is also a 2.5D curved glass laid on the top. As seen on the other mid-range devices from Huawei and Honor, the Huawei Y9 (2018) also comes powered by the Kirin 659 octa-core processor. It packs 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage that can be further expandable using a MicroSD card slot.

Talking about the cameras, the Huawei Y9 (2018) sports dual cameras on the front and rear. There is a 16MP + 2MP dual camera setup on the rear and 13MP + 2MP dual cameras on the front. It will be running on Android 8.0 Oreo-based EMUI 8.0 out of the box. With all these specifications, the device is backed by a 4,000mAh non-removable battery and there is no information about the fast charging support.

It comes with a metal unibody design with antenna bands spread across the top and bottom edges. The circular fingerprint sensor is placed on the rear of the device. Both the power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge. Later this month, the company is going to unveil the 2018 flagship smartphones – Huawei P20 and P20 Pro. Both these devices will be coming with the iPhone X-like display notch and Leica-branded dual & triple rear cameras respectively.
