Lenovo S5 Smartphone with 18:9 Display to Launch on March 20th
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Back in 2016, Lenovo launched its last flagship smartphone powered by Snapdragon 800-series processor. While the company completely abandoned the flagship smartphone segment, it isn’t even doing good in the budget segment. Last year, the company announced to use the stock Android UI instead of the in-house Vibe UI on their smartphones. Even though it has launched a couple devices under the Lenovo K-series in 2017, there isn’t much buzz about them anywhere.
As of now, the smartphone goals for Lenovo will be driven by the Moto branded devices. In the head to head fight with the likes of Xiaomi and Honor smartphones, no one seems to care about the Lenovo smartphones. However, the company is now getting ready to launch a new smartphone called Lenovo S5 on March 20th in China. In 2015, Lenovo launched the first S-series smartphone called Vibe S1 in India.
FYI, the Lenovo Vibe S1 is one of the very first devices to offer dual selfie cameras. Talking about the upcoming Lenovo S5 smartphone, there is no Vibe branding on this device. The Chinese version of the device should be running on the ZUI instead of the stock Android UI. It will be coming with the 18:9 display and might offer glossy finish back body. As of now, there isn’t much information about this new device.
The last Lenovo branded smartphone launched in China is the Lenovo K320t priced at 999 Yuan. At this price range, there are smartphones like Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus (a.k.a Redmi Note 5) and Honor 9 Youth (a.k.a Honor 9 Lite) offering much better specifications. The Lenovo K320t came with a 5.7-inch HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio and offered 8MP + 2MP dual camera setup on the rear.
