LeEco Ends Partnership with ErosNow, the Pre-Bundled Content is No More in India
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
LeEco, the Chinese conglomerate which entered into India last year with their smartphones as well as SuperTV range in the country has silently ended up their partnership with ErosNow. The partnership which was announced by the company when they entered into to the country has sadly come to an end. The brand in an email statement released to Phone Radar quoted that they are no longer offering ErosNow catalogue of movies on their SuperTVs and Le Smartphones.
Last year in the month of January, the brand formed a strategic business alliance with ErosNow to integrate their services in the Le ecosystem of internet enabled smartphones and smart televisions. ErosNow has a large repository of Bollywood films, music and Originals; the brand thought to offer local content to its consumers. According to the partnership, the Le smartphone users would get a one-year free premium membership subscription on ErosNow, which would be pre-bundled with phones and smartTVs.
But unfortunately, the service had been stopped by company without notifying any of their smartphone or SuperTV users. Earlier, this month we recently tweeted to brand as we noticed that Levidi services are not running on the SuperTV. Do make a note that for SuperTV users premium content subscription was offered for two years. So, now you can see how marketing their TVs with free two year premium subscription turns out to be bad decision for TV owners at least.
If you’re a LeEco SuperTV user then you might be noticing on the Levidi app that it has stopped working since last couple of weeks. If you haven’t already checked and looking at it now, then you will probably see a Coming Soon Screen as it’s showing on our model. It means you can’t stream ErosNow content for free on your LeEco SuperTV as the service is discontinued.
Even though, LeEco promises that they are working on to bring back the Levidi app with a plethora of varied entertainment content. It’s sad to see companies promise a lot of things during the launch time of their products and later end services without even notifying their consumers. They would of course feel cheated if not get angry or irritated of the brand. The brand should have at least publicly open up about the status of their business partnership as it affects the user base. There is no ETA on when LeEco would roll out an update adding plethora of entertainment package as promised. Hope this time they deliver.
