In the first month of this new year, not many smartphones are made available in the Indian market. Looking at the best selling devices and new launches, below are the few smartphones that bring good value for money. We also included a few smartphones which are now available for an even better price after the recent price cuts. All the smartphones mentioned below also support Indian 4G LTE bands.

The Samsung Galaxy On8 is one of the best mid-range device launched by the company in 2016. It is now available for Rs. 14,900 (MRP Rs. 15,900) and comes in Gold, Black, and White color options. On the front is a 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display. It packs Exynos octa-core SoC, 3GB RAM, and 16GB of expandable storage. The physical home button on the front also comes integrated with a fingerprint sensor. It is a dual SIM dual standby device and supports 4G VoLTE for Jio 4G SIM usage. The Galaxy On8 is backed by a 3,300mAh and measures just 7.8 mm thickness.
The Redmi Note 3 launched in January last year is one of the best-selling smartphones in the Indian market. Now, the company launched the Redmi Note 4 as its successor and includes decent upgrades in terms of design and the specifications. The base variant with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage is priced at just Rs. 9,999 while the same device with doubled RAM and internal storage costs Rs. 12,999. The device comes with a metal body and features a 5.5-inch Full HD display on the front. It also includes a 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, and a 4,100mAh battery.
While the announcing the price cut on the Snapdragon 820 powered Z2 Plus smartphone, Lenovo also mentioned that the device will be available on Flipkart. The 3GB RAM variant with 32GB of internal storage is now priced at just Rs. 14,999 while the 4GB RAM variant with 64GB of internal storage costs Rs. 17,499. It features a 5-inch Full HD display on the front and comes with health-related sensors like heart rate monitor, cadence sensors, and power meters. Though the device runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box, it will soon receive the latest Nougat update.
The Xolo Era 2X is an entry-level smartphone which can be a good alternative for the first time smartphone buyers. The 2GB RAM comes with a price tag of Rs. 6,666, while the 3GB RAM variant is priced at Rs. 7,499. Considering the budget pricing, the device comes with a polycarbonate body and matte finish back cover. On the back of the device, we can also find the fingerprint sensor. The 5-inch device sports an HD display and is powered by MediaTek MT6737 processor. In the camera department, the Era 2X offers an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera.
In case, if you aren’t lucky enough to get the Redmi Note 4 via flash sales, then the Lenovo K6 Power is one good alternative at the same price of Rs. 9,999. It comes with slightly smaller form factor with a 5-inch display and is powered by the Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor. The K6 Power has 3GB of RAM which makes the multi-tasking effortless and 32GB of internal storage store all the apps and multimedia files. On the back of the device are the dual stereo speaker and a fingerprint sensor. The 4,000mAh battery can make the device last at least for a single day of mixed usage.
Even though the iPhone 6 was launched a couple of years back, it is still one of the best-selling devices in the market. The recent price cut of Rs. 9,000 even sweetens the deal on Flipkart. For Rs. 27,990, the users can get the 16GB variant of the Space Grey iPhone 6. The device is also eligible for the iOS 10 update and will also receive the updates at least for the next couple of years. It sports a 4.7-inch Retina display and packs a 64-bit A8 chip. Apart from the lack of 3D Touch, the iPhone 6 is on par with the iPhone 6S. Compared to iPhone 5S, the iPhone 6 packs a better Touch ID fingerprint sensor.
The Moto E3 Power from Lenovo comes with hefty upgrades when compared to its predecessor, Moto E2. The device is retailing at Rs. 7,999 and comes with little compromises. For a 5-inch form factor, the device is backed by a 3,500mAh battery. The 64-bit MediaTek MT6735p processor coupled with 2GB of RAM makes the Moto E3 Power a good device for a daily usage. Coming to the cameras, there is an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera on this device. The device offers dual SIM dual standby support and offers 4G VoLTE connectivity.
