You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Asus launched the Zenfone 3 Max smartphone in India in November last year. The device was launched in two variants with 5.2-inch and 5.5-inch screen sizes priced at Rs. 12,999 and Rs. 17,999 respectively. Just after three months of its debut in the Indian market, the company will be launching a new upgraded variant called Zenfone 3S Max (ZC521TL) on February 7th. This new device comes only in one variant with a 5.2-inch display and will be available in Gold color option. Talking about the design, the device looks completely different from the Zenfone 3 Max, the new Zenfone 3S Max comes with a physical home button and lacks the rear-facing loudspeaker. Even the rear camera is moved from top center to the top left of the device.
It is expected to be priced around Rs. 10,000 and most of the smartphones from Chinese manufacturers at this price come with a Full HD (1280 x 1080 pixels) display, but the 5.2-inch display on the Zenfone 3S Max is only limited to HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the MediaTek MT6750V/C octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and comes coupled with Mali T860 MP2 GPU and 3GB of RAM. There is also 32GB of internal storage that can be further expanded upto 128GB via provided hybrid SIM slot.
It features a 13MP rear camera with dual tone LED flash and an 8MP selfie camera on the front. The most notable upgraded on the Zenfone 3S Max compared to Zenfone 3 Max, is the bump in battery capacity from 4,100mAh to a whopping 5,000mAh. According to the company, the device lasts up to 34 days in standby mode. The Nubia N1 is another smartphone to offer such a large battery, but it is priced slightly on the higher side. It supports dual SIM dual standby and offers VoLTE for using with the Jio 4G SIM. The physical home button on the front also comes embedded with a fingerprint sensor.
The Zenfone 3S Max runs on the in-house ZenUI and is also the first Asus smartphone to come with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm Audio port, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. The device measures 149.5 x 73.7 x 8.85 mm and weighs 169.5 grams. On the right edge of the device, we can find the volume rocker and the power button. The loudspeaker on the Zenfone 3S Max is placed on the bottom edge. The complete details including the pricing and availability will be known on its launch day, i.e.; February 7th.
