Asus Zenfone 5 Max with Android 8.0 Oreo Gets Wi-Fi Certification

The Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer Asus will be launching a bunch of smartphones under the ZenFone 5 lineup later this year. At the Computex 2017, the company unveiled the Zenfone 4 lineup of devices and most of them came with the dual camera sensors. While the smartphones in the Zenfone 5 series will be unveiled in mid-2018, the Zenfone 5 Max is now spotted on the Wi-Fi certification website.

The certification listing revealed the Zenfone 5 Max to come with the model number Asus X00QD and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. As of now, there is no other information available about this smartphone. Talking about the previously launched Zenfone 4 Max, it comes in three different variants powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC, Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC, and MediaTek MT6750 SoC.

It comes with a metal unibody design and sports a front-facing home button with an integrated fingerprint sensor. On the front, the Zenfone 4 Max features a 5.5-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. It includes 3GB/4GB of RAM and was available in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB storage options. Additionally, there is also a MicroSD card slot further expansion of storage.

The Zenfone 4 Max was launched with Android 7.0 Nougat onboard with the latest ZenUI 4.0 laid on top. In terms of optics, the smartphone offers 13MP dual camera setup with LED flash and 120-degree wide-angle lens. For selfies, there is an 8MP camera on the front with 85-degree FoV and softlight LED flash. With the upcoming Zenfone 5 Max, we expect the company to offer the new 18:9 aspect ratio.
