Huawei MediaPad M5 Android Tablet Without 3.5mm Audio Jack Gets FCC Certified

You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

Huawei might skip launching the Huawei P11 or P20 smartphones at the upcoming MWC 2018. Instead of the flagship smartphones, the company might instead launch the Huawei MediaPad M5 tablet. One variant of the tablet with an 8.4-inch display was recently certified by FCC. Now, the latest leaks reveal the MediaPad M5 to be available in 8.4-inch and 10.1-inch variants.

The MediaPad M5 will be the successor to MediaPad M3 tablet launched in 2016. Both the 8.4-inch and 10.1-inch MediaPad tablets come with a metal unibody design and protruding rear camera. Beneath the display is the physical home button that also comes with an integrated fingerprint sensor. As seen on the iPad Pro, the 10.1-inch MediaAPad M5 tablet comes with magnetic pins for connecting with additional accessories like a keyboard.

There is also a front-facing camera on both the variants. Compared to the 10.1-inch tablet, the 8.4-inch tablet comes with relatively smaller bezels. Huawei might launch the MediaPad M5 in both Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi + LTE variants. The Antenna bands are placed across the top and bottom edges. However, both the variants of the MediaPad M5 comes with stereo speaker setup for an enhanced multimedia experience.

While the 8.4-inch MediaPad M5 was designed for using in portrait mode, the design of the 10.1-inch variant gives a better experience in landscape mode. As of now, there is no information regarding the specifications of both the 8.4-inch and 10.1-inch variants. The FCC listing revealed the 8.4-inch MediaPad M5 to come with a 4,980mAh non-removable battery. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
