Fitbit Versa with Female Health Tracking Feature to Launch on April 16th
Last year, Fitbit launched its first ever smartwatch called Fitbit Ionic running on its proprietary OS. Unlike other smartwatches available in the market, the Fitbit Ionic is more like a fitness first smartwatch. With the lack of female-centric features, the Fitbit Ionic might not have been well received in the market. Earlier this month, the company announced to bring a new smartwatch with mass appeal.
The leaks confirmed the upcoming Fitbit smartwatch to be named as Fitbit Versa. Now, the latest news confirms the launch date of Fitbit Versa as April 16th. It is also expected to be priced lower than the $300 Fitbit Ionic. The Versa will be coming in a slightly smaller form factor and is mentioned to include a SpO2 sensor. Just like the Ionic, the Versa will also run on the Fitbit OS. With the 5 ATM water-resistance rating, it will be swim-proof.
Fitbit will also introduce a new feature Female Health Tracking with the Versa, but there isn’t much information available about this. It is said to be available in Black, Silver, Rose Gold, and Charcoal color options. The Fitbit Versa will also be customized with a wide range of straps. Compared to Ionic, the Versa will be missing the built-in GPS. It will also include built-in NFC chip for supporting Fitbit Pay.
