Huawei P20 Pro with Triple Leica Cameras & P20 Lite Launched in India

Almost a month after making the global debut, Huawei today introduced the latest Huawei P20 series smartphones in the Indian market. The company has officially launched the Huawei P20 Pro and P20 Lite smartphones exclusively via Amazon India. As of now, there is no information about the availability of the Huawei P20. While the Huawei P20 Pro packs flagship specifications with innovative cameras and premium design, the affordable Huawei P20 Lite brings a few of the P20 Pro features to the budget segment.

Both the P20 Pro and P20 Lite sports the notch display and glass back body. While the Huawei P20 Pro sports a physical home button with an integrated fingerprint sensor, the P20 Lite come with a rear-facing fingerprint sensor. The P20 Pro comes with a 6.1-inch OLED FullView display with Full HD+ (2240 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 18.7:9 aspect ratio. It runs on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with custom EMUI 8.1 skin laid on top.

Under the hood, the device come powered by the latest HiSilicon Kirin 970 AI processor with a dedicated NPU. The Huawei P20 devices come with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Talking about the rear camera of the Huawei P20 Pro, there is a triple Leica camera setup featuring a 40MP RGB primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP telephoto sensor with f/2.4 aperture, and a 20MP monochrome sensor with f/1.6 aperture. All these three sensors are optically stabilized on top of the Huawei’s all-new AI Image stabilization (AIS).

The rear cameras on this device offer 5x hybrid zoom and support 960 fps slo-mo video recording. On the front of the P20 Pro is the single 24MP camera with 3D portrait mode and iPhone X-like lighting effects. It is backed by a huge 4,000mAh battery that also supports 24W Huawei SuperCharge fast charging technology. The P20 Pr0 lacks the 3.5mm audio jack but comes with IP67 certification. Coming to the affordable Huawei P20 Lite smartphone, it sports a 5.84-inch Full HD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) IPS display and packs Kirin 659 octa-core processor.

There is 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. In the camera department, the P20 Lite sports a 16MP + 2MP dual camera setup on the rear with f/2.2 aperture and a 24MP single camera on the front with f/2.0 aperture. It is backed by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery and also supports Huawei SuperCharge fast charging technology. The power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge on both the devices.

Apart from the fingerprint sensor, the users can also unlock both the devices using face unlock feature. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, W-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, and a USB type-C port. The Huawei P20 Pro additionally includes NFC support for making mobile payments. Talking about the pricing, the Huawei P20 Pro and P20 Lite are priced very aggressively at Rs. 64,999 and Rs. 19,999 respectively. Both these devices will be sold exclusively through Amazon.in starting May 3rd.
