These Little Magnet Pods Charge your Smartphone in Emergencies

More often than not, we see very exciting tech projects on crowdfunding platforms. In 2017, a new project on Kickstarter from the company called FingerPow has been backed by 1,500 people. The smartphone companies are spending on R&D for improving the charging speeds. While most smartphones now support fast charging, the battery life of these devices is still not that great. That’s the reason why we carry power banks with us all the time. Back in November 2017, the FingerPow’s project went live on Kickstarter, and the company has now started shipping the product.

The package includes a main charging hub with 5,000mAh battery capacity, magnetic adapters for attaching to the smartphones, charging pods with 600mAh capacity, and a magnetic charging cable. The user can connect the magnetic adapter to their smartphone and the company is offering these adapters with Lighting, Micro-USB, and USB Type-C pins. Once the magnetic adapter is attached to the smartphone, the user can charge it at home using the magnetic cable or on the go using the magnetic pods.

The only con with these magnetic adapters is that the user has to remove them for connecting the regular USB or lighting cables. Since most of the current smartphones lack a dedicated 3.5mm audio jack, the user has to remove these adapters more often for connecting the wired earphones. The 600mAh battery pods are very tiny and also waterproof. With 5W output, these pods cant make use of the fast charging technology on most of the new-gen smartphones.

The $40 super early bird offer which is currently sold out lacked the built-in 5,000mAh battery to use as a power bank. The Pow Plus combo pack includes 4 charging pods,  2 magnetic adapters, 1 magnetic charging cable, and one charging hub with built-in 5,000mAh battery. The Pow Basic comes with the same set of accessories as offered with the Pow Plus, but misses the built-in 5,000mAh battery.
