Nokia X Showcased with 5.8″ Notch Display & Dual Cameras
At the MWC 2018, HMD Global launched the Nokia-branded Android One smartphones along with the Nokia 8110 VoLTE-enabled feature phone. While the company launched four new smartphones, only the Nokia 7 Plus came with the 18:9 display. Today, the company showcased the all-new Nokia X sporting the notch display. It’s interesting how fast HMD Global has embraced the notch design compared to the 18:9 aspect ratio.
Though the Nokia X comes with a display notch on the top, there is a bottom bezel with Nokia branding. The device comes with glass sandwich design with metal frame in the middle and 2.5D curved glass on either side. Both the power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge. Unlike the international variants, the Nokia smartphones in China come with a customized UI.
The Nokia X comes with the model number TA-1099 and will be initially exclusive to the Chinese market. The large camera module on the rear sports dual rear cameras and LED flash. Just below the camera setup is the circular fingerprint sensor with chrome finish ring. It comes with the USB Type-C port and 3.5mm audio jack. While there is no official confirmation about the specifications of the Nokia X, it could come in two variants.
While the Snapdragon 636 powered variant comes with 6GB RAM and the other variant with MediaTek Helio P60 processor offers 4GB RAM. It comes with a 5.8-inch display with Full HD+ (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. It will be running on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
