Uber to Bring Flying Taxis in Mumbai, Delhi & Bengaluru with Uber Air Mobility Concept
Everywhere around the globe, the urban commuting is always a concern. Uber, the world’s largest car-hailing company, came out with an ambitious idea to solve the urban commuter’s major pain point. The company today announced the urban air mobility service called Uber Air at the Uber Elevate Expo held in Tokyo. There are many concepts by different companies that are generally for raising funds but Uber has already shown a demo of their services with a plan to initiate in the coming years.
This clearly hints that they are already working on bringing the service live in India and right now Delhi, Tokyo, Mumbai, Seoul, Sydney, and Taipei are the future routes for the Uber Air Flights. While it now takes approximately 1 hour to reach the airport from the most cities or higher, with these new air mobility services this might go down to just 10 minutes saving everyone’s time. Last month, Uber has also crossed the 10 billion trips milestone.
Uber Air will first launch in Dallas and Los Angeles in 2020 for demonstration and will start the commercial operations in 2023. The company shortlisted India along with Japan, France, Australia, and Brazil for this new service. While Uber had earlier announced Dubai as its third city to take off Uber Air service, the company later opted to look out for alternatives for its third city after some unknown delays.
