Lenovo P2 with 5.5″ Full HD Display & 5,100mAh Battery to Launch Soon in India

At the IFA 2016, Lenovo launched quite a few smartphones including Lenovo K6, K6 Power, K6 Note, P2 and A Plus. While the K6 series is already launched here in India, now the company is bringing the Lenovo P2 smartphone to the Indian market. It is the successor to the last year’s Lenovo Vibe P1 smartphone. Though the company has posted the teaser images, the exact launch date is yet to be announced. Since the device is already showcased at the IFA 2016, we already know about the design and the specifications. It sports an all metal unibody design with rounded corners and a slight curve on the back.

This new device sports a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. However, we can’t yet confirm that the Indian variant will featuring the AMOLED panel or not, since the Moto M launched here in India came with a IPS panel where as the Chinese variant of it is equipped with a AMOLED panel. The device is powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0 GHz and coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. It comes in 3GB and 4GB RAM variants with 32GB and 64GB storage options. There is also a MicroSD card slot for additional storage expansion upto 128GB.

Talking about the cameras, there is a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera for selfies. The USP of the device is its huge 5,100mAh battery that is mentioned to give 78.69 hours of talk time and lasts upto 32 days on standby mode. It also supports fast charging with the 24W rapid charger provided within the package. Using the rapid charger, the device can give 10 hours of battery life with just 15 minutes of charging. The physical home button placed on the front of the device also come equipped with a fingerprint sensor. It runs on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with the Vibe UI laid on top.

Apart from the volume rocker and power button the right edge, there is a slider on the left edge of the device to quickly activate the power saving mode. The Lenovo P2 also supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE for faster data speeds. It measures 153 x 76 x 8.3 mm and weighs 177 grams. Connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi 802.1  b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, A-GPS, NFC, FM Radio, 3.5mm Audio port, and MicroUSB 2.0 port.
