Xiaomi Mi MIX with Bezel-less Display & Ceramic Body Officially Launched in White Color

After launching the popular Mi MIX concept smartphone in China in Black color, earlier there are leaked images showing the glimpse of the Mi MIX in the new white color. The recently posted teaser images unofficially unconfirmed the launch of the White colored Mi MIX at the CES 2017. As expected, Xiaomi has officially unveiled the all-new White colored Mi MIX smartphone with the same ceramic body as seen on the Black colored variant. Along with the device body, the frame and hardware buttons of the Mi MIX are also made up of ceramic.

Compared to the Black color variant, the White color looks more elegant and might not show up fingerprints. Apart from the change in color, the design of the Mi MIX remains same as on the earlier variant. While the black color variant was launched in another variant with gold aesthetics called Mi MIX 18K, there is no information about the same 18K gold variant with the White color variant. More than the ceramic body, the USP of the device is its 6.4-inch Full HD (1080 x 2040 pixels) display which is almost bezel-less and comes with an unusual 17:9 aspect ratio.

The device also comes with 91.3% screen-to-body ratio which occupies most of the real estate on the front. On the top of the device, there is no place to hold onto the front camera, earpiece, and proximity sensor. The front camera is placed on the bottom edge of the device, and instead of the regular proximity sensor, the company opted for an ultrasonic proximity sensor. Talking about the earpiece, the Mi MIX features a piezoelectric ceramic acoustic technology speaker which uses the device’s body to transmit sound.

Apart from the innovation on the display side, the device is also powerhouse considering all the top-notch specifications. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor clocked at 2.35GHz and coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. The device comes in two variants with 4GB RAM + 128GB storage and 6GB RAM + 256GB storage. On the camera side, there is a 16MP rear camera with PDAF and a 5MP front camera. It is backed by a 4,400mAh non-removable battery and also supports Quick Charge 3.0 support.

The Mi MIX sports a circular fingerprint sensor placed on the rear of the device. Even with such a large display, the Mi MIX measures 158.8 x 81.9 x 7.9 mm and weighs 209 grams. While the Black colored Mi MIX is exclusively sold only in China, now the new White colored variant will also follow the same route. Since the ceramic built devices are hard to produce, the Mi MIX is manufactured in limited quantities and hence the device is also sold in very limited quantities even in China, that too via weekly sales.
