Nubia Shows A Futuristic Flexible Display Smartphone That You Can Wear On Your Wrist
Samsung and Huawei have confirmed working on a smartphone with a foldable/bendable display. According to the latest news, Samsung has provided sample panels to Xiaomi and OPPO to grow the ecosystem of flexible smartphones. At the ongoing IFA 2018, the China-based Nubia came up with a futuristic product. The company showcased the Nubia α (Alpha) smartphone that you can actually wear on your wrist.
While it looks like a concept device, the company says it isn’t just a concept. The company is actually planning to release the Nubia α in the market by the end of this year. The display on this device is the biggest flexible display we have ever seen on a wearable device. It is said to include all the features of any other smartphone. There will be an eSIM for the on-the-go connectivity.
This Nubia smartwatch/phone hybrid has certainly been a talking point at #IFA2018. People quick to criticise it but I see it is as part of a long journey that is about to begin based on flexible screen tech. We'll learn a lot from products like this. @nubiasmartphone @George_CCS pic.twitter.com/0RcuSSkgrS

The ugly looking bezels on the right side sports a camera for taking selfies and making video calls. As of now, there is no other information about this device. While we expect it to run on Android OS, the UI on the demo unit doesn’t look familiar. We can also notice a lot of changes in terms of design between the demo unit and images. We hope Nubia achieves that design with the final product.
