Amazon Alexa Devices Get Skype Calling Support in India

Amazon Alexa devices did not have the support for Skype calling till now, but the latest news is that Skype is available on Alexa-enabled devices and the users can connect hands-free with friends and family just by voice gestures. Yes, you read it right! From today Alexa enabled devices will be able to make calls just by saying “Alexa call Dad on Skype” if you want to call your Dad or anyone else for that matter from your contacts. Skype announced this news on its blog post and noted that its mission has always been to bring people together.

Furthermore, in addition to audio and video calling, Skype is also providing the ability for the Alexa users to call most of the landlines and mobiles numbers using Skype to phone, even for international calls. Skype is also proving 200 free minutes of Skype to Phone calling to 34 different countries on certain conditions, on the occasion of making Skype calling available with Alexa.

The Alexa-enabled devices like the Echo Dot can be used to make hands-free Skype voice calls whenever Alexa and Skype are available. You can also make High-fidelity Skype video calls form the Echo Show and Echo Sport to Skype on Computers, Tablets or mobiles. To start using the services, the user needs to link Skype with their Alexa account and then follow the instructions mentioned below.

From the Alexa App, set up your device, then go to the setting option and find Communication and then select Skype to link your account. Now sign in using the same Microsoft account that you use for Skype. Now the user is ready to make Skype calls using voice any time easily without much fuss. Apart from India, Skype calling is also available in Countries like Australia, U.S., U.K., Ireland, Canada, and New Zealand and support for other countries is also rolling out.
