Qualcomm’s Next-Gen Snapdragon 8150 (855) SoC Slated to Launch On December 4th

Qualcomm is all set to launch its new flagship processor – the Snapdragon 8150 (SD 855) next month. The world’s leading chipmaker has already sent invites about its Snapdragon Technology Summit in Yidao, Hawaii on December 4th, where we can expect the new flagship processor to be announced by the company.

However, it isn’t new since the company had also launched its flagship Snapdragon 845 chipset similarly in last December as well. As for the processor, it is most likely to be built on a 7nm process featuring a single large core paired with three other large cores and four small core architectures which translates to one 2.84GHz along with three 2.4GHz and four of the 1.78GHz frequencies respectively. The new Adreno 640 GPU is expected to be 20% higher than the predecessor Adreno 630 GPU.

While its technically a successor to the Snapdragon 845 chipset, the identity is slightly differed and would be named as Snapdragon 8150, which can be referred to as SD 855 as well.

The new processor naturally falls in the category of Apple’s A12 Bionic and as well as Huawei’s Kirin 980 flagship processors. Lastly, Samsung’s Galaxy S10 would be the most popular smartphone to feature this processor early next year along with its standard Exynos chipset variant as well.
