Alcatel A3 XL with 6″ Display & 5MP Selfie Camera Launched at CES 2017

TCL’s homegrown smartphone brand Alcatel launched it’s all new smartphone, Alcatel A3 XL. The company made the official announcement during the CES 2017. It will be the first device under this new A series and sports entry-level specifications and a large form factor. While the pricing of the device is yet to be made official, the A3 XL will be available in Asia, Middle East, Africa and Latin America in the first quarter of 2017. In Europe, the device is expected to launch only in the second quarter of this year.

It comes with a polycarbonate shell with a textured finish on the back. There is a slight curve on the back that gives a nice grip to hold on to this huge device. Firstly, the device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with slight customizations. The Alcatel A3 XL sports a huge 6-inch IPS display with just HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and a pixel density of 244ppi. Under the hood is the MediaTek MT8735B quad-core processor clocked at 1.1GHz. It also packs 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage that can be further expanded via MicroSD card slot.

The device comes with an 8MP rear camera with LED flash that can only record HD videos at 30fps. There is also a 5MP front camera for capturing selfies and video calls. It is backed by a 3,000mAh battery that can give more than a day of usage with entry-level specifications. Just below the protruding rear camera is the circular fingerprint sensor that can make the A3 XL a bit more secure. At the bottom rear of the device is the loud speaker. The power button and the volume rocker can be found on the right edge of the device. Alcatel A3 XL also sports a MicroSD card and dual SIM card slots.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm audio port and MicroUSB 2.0 port. Interestingly, the Alcatel A3 XL also sports a MicroSD card and dual SIM card slots. Alcatel’s parent company, TCL is all set to launch an Android powered Blackberry smartphone with a qwerty keyboard. Last month, Alcatel also launched the Idol 4 With VR headset in the Indian market at Rs. 16,999. It comes with a 5.2-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution display. It is powered by Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and coupled with Adreno 405 GPU.

It came with 3GB RAM and 16GB of onboard storage that can be expandable up to 512GB via microSD card. There is a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. Both the front and rear cameras are assisted by LED flash for capturing decent images even in the low light conditions. The Alcatel Idol 4 is backed by a 2610mAh battery and supports Quick Charge 2.0 fast charging technology. Connectivity options include4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio port, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. It measures 147 x 72.5 x 7.1 mm and weighs 135 grams.
