HMD plans to launch upto 7 Nokia Android smartphones including high-end flagships in 2017
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
HMD, the home of new Nokia Phones is planning to launch a bunch of Nokia smartphones in 2017. The Finnish company already launched a feature phone a couple of weeks back. It has been reported that the company will be launching Android powered Nokia smartphones in 2017. However, the new reports point to some new info which would make all the Nokia fanboys happy. Yes, according to the new reports that we have, it looks like the company is planning to launch upto seven phones this year (2017). It is also reported that these phones will include mid-ranged smartphones as well as some high-end flagships as well.
This info was leaked in a slide from was presented at a presentation held by Avaxx. Avaxx is an authorized Nokia/Microsoft distributor in Malaysia. According to the slides, it looks like new Nokia Android phones are coming in 2017 and that too, not one or two, the company is planning to launch upto 7 of them. It has also been reported that these smartphones will range from low-end devices to high-end flagships. While we don’t have any info about the exact launch date of any of these handsets, it is at least good to know that the company has plans to launch smartphones now under the Nokia brand name.
Also, do make a note that although the slide mentions about 6-7 smartphones, we are not sure as to how many of them will get a global launch or if any of them will get a global release. For that info, we should wait a bit longer until we see the Nokia’s presence in MWC 2017 show floor where the company is expected to launch at least one out of these seven smartphones that are powered by Android. It is highly possible that this smartphone could be the long awaited Nokia D1C smartphone. Well, if you don;t know anything about Nokia D1C, it is expected to be a mid-ranged device from Nokia. It is expected to sport a 1080p display on the front, and it looks like it will be powered by a Snapdragon 600 series SoC along with 4GB of RAM.
As mentioned earlier, we don’t have any info on this device or pretty much any device from Nokia. Hence we suggest you sit back and hold on till MWC 2017, where Nokia has confirmed its presence. With that said, let us know what do you think about this Nokia’s comeback into the smartphone industry. Are you excited to get your hands on any Nokia smartphone and if yes, then what are your expectations?
