OnePlus to Open its First Experience Store in India on January 7th
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
OnePlus is a popular smartphone brand all over the globe, but its presence is very limited and serves to limited niche. Starting from the OnePlus One launched in 2014, all the OnePlus smartphones are sold via online. In China, the company tested out selling their smartphones via retail stores which were later shut down to completely focus on the online sales. With the OnePlus 3 launched in 2016, the company even got rid of the invite system. Till date, the OnePlus experience stores are limited to China, but as announced in September last year, the company is now getting ready to inaugurate its first ever global experience store in India.
The OnePlus experience store in Bengaluru, India will be inaugurated on January 6th and will be opened for users to experience from the next day onwards. The users can try out the OnePlus smartphones along with a different kind of accessories before making their purchases. By seeing the success of this particular store, the Chinese company might come up with even more experience stores in India. With a huge popularity for the OnePlus smartphones in the Indian market, the company is giving out most importance by setting up experience stores and will soon start manufacturing in India to cater the huge demand.
While the recent OnePlus devices are receiving a positive response from the users and reviewers, the low inventory made the user shift to other alternatives. While other Chinese companies like Xiaomi and Coolpad are already selling their smartphones in the offline stores, OnePlus might remain as the online exclusive brand to maintain aggressive pricing of their smartphones. Last month, the company launched the all-new OnePlus 3T smartphone powered by Snapdragon 821 SoC. It comes in Gunmetal and Soft Gold color options. The device is priced at Rs. 29,999 for the 64GB storage variant and the Rs. 34,999 for the 128GB storage variant.
It sports a unibody design built out of Aluminum, same as OnePlus 3. The device comes with 6GB of RAM which is more than enough for a regular smartphone user. While the device runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow based Oxygen OS out of the box, the company already started rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat based Oxygen 4.0 update for OnePlus 3T as well as OnePlus 3. The new OnePlus 3T also packs a 16MP camera sensor on the front for capturing better selfies, while the 16MP rear camera remains same as on the OnePlus 3. Even with the same form factor as OnePlus 3, the company has somehow increased the battery capacity of the OnePlus 3T from 3,000mAh to 3,400mAh.
The device also supports OnePlus’s exclusive fast charging technology called Dash Charge that can give a day long battery life with just 30 minutes of charging. With the fingerprint sensor and NFC support, the device can be used for making mobile payments. Though the OnePlus 3T packs high-end specifications, it will not be compatible with the Google’s Daydream VR headset. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for the OnePlus India’s future plan for the Indian market and how the experience stores help them in the long run.
