Xiaomi recently launched their new handset, the Redmi Note 4, which is a successor to the Redmi Note 3, last year’s model. The handset that sports a similar 5.5-inch Full HD display, a new Qualcomm Processor and 2GB/3GB/4GB RAM variants. It also sports a new 13-megapixel image sensor, which is accompanied by a 5-megapixel selfie shooter. Have a fingerprint sensor on rear, which is quite snappy in performance. On top of that it has a 4100 mAh capacity battery, claiming to offer long battery life.
No matter how much Xiaomi touts that they are offering the best handset at the price point, there is always an alternatives available in the market that would pack at least one thing extra and better than what company advertises. Below we give you three alternatives to the Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 4 smartphone.
Honor 6X
Honor is expected to launch their new mid-range handset in India this month and it is a perfect alternative if you aren’t going to go with the Redmi Note 4. The handset is an all-metal build smartphone with specifications that would peak your interest in the device. It is powered by an in-house Kirin 655 processor, which is an Octa-core processor clocking at 2.1 GHz. Sporting a 5.5-inch 1080p display that is touted to offer best sunlight legibility as company calls it a sunlight display offer up to 450 Nits brightness under direct sunlight. As well as offers different Built-in eye comfort mode filters, relieving screen-related viral fatigue, which is a big problem that most of us ignore. The display is covered with a high-grade 2.5D curve glass which is durable and scratch-resistant.
Talking about the RAM and storage on the Honor 6X, it sports a 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The device runs on the Huawei’s EMUI 4.1 version that is based on the Android Marshmallow 6.0. The cool thing about this handset is that it packs dual-camera setup on the rear, which includes 12MP main sensor and 2MP secondary sensors. They both work together to offers of effects like bokeh, etc. The front facing module is of 8MP, which houses features such as beautification. Coolpad and LeEco in a partnership together launched their new handset recently that is called Cool 1. This new handset comes equipped with LeEco’s software while Coolpad take care of the hardware part. Talking about the specifications of the device, it is a perfect mid-ranger to compete with the Redmi Note 4, as it offers impressive specs sheet. There is a 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage available on the device. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652, which is an Octa-core processor clocking at 1.8GHz, it is accompanied by Adreno 510 GPU.
The USP of this handset is the dual-camera setup present on the rear side of the device. The 13MP CMOS sensor have an aperture of f/2.0 and is quipped with a PDAF technology. Interestingly, you can record 4K resolution video, which is absent on the Redmi Note 4 and Honor 6X too. The Dual camera setup is equipped with a dual ISP, dual temperature flash, four core algorithm and dual 6P lens. The device sports a 5.5 inch full HD display which is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Company touts that the device is made out of aviation-grade aluminium, which gives it a classy and stunning design. Cool 1 runs on the EUI, which LeEco’s software base don the Android Marshmallow, do make a note that it is loaded with LeEco apps as well. All this is powered by a 4000 mAh capacity battery, which supports Quick Charging.
Lenovo Z2 Plus
If you’re looking for a more compact mid-ranger, then Lenovo’s Z2 Plus is perfect handset for you. With a recent price tag cut for both 3GB and 4GB variants, they are now priced at Rs 14,999 and Rs 17,499. The main reason for recommending this handset is the processor it comes with. It is the only handset in the sub Rs 15,000 category that is powered by a flagship chipset, Snapdragon 820. The SoC that is used in handsets like OnePlus 3T, HTC 10, LG G5, LG V20 and many more flagship handsets.
The Z2 Plus, which is a rendition of ZUK Z2 that is available in China is a perfect smartphone for the go-getters who likes compact handset in the world where even a people likes to carry 6-inch handsets. It runs on the Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 with Google Now Launcher and packs stock Android look and apps as well.
