Samsung starts rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update for a small number of Galaxy S7 users
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Samsung tested out the beta version of the Android 7.0 Nougat for Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge for quite some time until they ended the beta program last month. Now according to the new reports which we have, it looks like Samsung is performing some kind of a soak test ahead of its full-scale rollout. According to the source, Samsung is rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update to a small number of Galaxy S7 users. While the update is not available to everyone yet, it is good to see that the company is keeping up with the promise of rolling out the update this month.
The update which Samsung is pushing too few users has the build number G935FXXU1DPLR, and it also comes with the company’s security patch for January. This is the first update after the company’s previous report where they clearly mentioned that there wouldn’t be any more beta updates. Well, considering the fact this update is coming after that, we assume that this is going to be the final rollout of Nougat. Hence if you own a Galaxy S7 or an S7 Edge, then expect an OTA update in coming weeks as the chances of your device getting updated by the end of this month is quite high.
Also, pushing an update to few users and seeing if everything works fine looks like a great move indeed. Instead of sending the update to everyone, first making sure that everything works fine and then making a global rollout is always a safe option. The company also took a lot of feedbacks as well during the beta testing as we reported earlier where they hinted that they would be adding more features to the fingerprint scanner, etc. Hence looking at all this, we expect this version of the software to be the final version and judging by all the testing that has gone into it; everything should work flawlessly.
With that said, do make a note that this is not an official confirmation from Samsung as they haven’t yet announced anything about the update. This is a report coming from the source after seeing that few users have received the update. Hence we suggest you wait until the official rollout starts. Hence if you want to stay updated with this news, we suggest you stay tuned to PhoneRadar for details on the same as we will update once the update becomes official.
