VTech Now Launches KidiBuzz Phone Running on Android OS for Kids
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
In February this year, VTech has launched an Android-powered tablet for Kids. It also came with its own instant messaging app called KidiCom allowing kids to send texts and images to their contacts. Now the company came with a new communication device for kids called as VTech KidiBuzz. It is priced at $100 and is recommended for children aged between 4 and 9 years. The Kidibuzz looks like a regular smartphone but lacks the cellular connectivity.
However, the device comes with Wi-Fi support and the Kids can chat and browse using the built-in app. Since its designed for Kids, the company has put few restrictions for using this phone. To access the contacts and websites, kids have to get them pre-approved by their parents using the KidiConnect app. The KidiConnect app is available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The device comes in Pink and Black color options.
It comes pre-loaded with 40 games and apps and more can be downloaded through the store. There is also a multimedia player for listening to music and watching videos. It sports a 5-inch shatter-safe display and the device itself is protected by the bumpers around the edges. There is also a rotating camera as seen on the OPPO N3 smartphone, it can be as both rear and front cameras. It offers 8GB of onboard storage that can be expandable additionally up to 32GB using the MicroSD card slot.
There are two dedicated buttons for camera and chat apps on top of the display. It is currently sold through Amazon, Target, and Walmart at a discounted price of $80. As the KidiBuzz runs on Android OS, the users can side-loaded any Android app. Since it’s designed for 4-9 year old kids, we don’t think it should be an issue.
