Xiaomi Enters Spain, Might Open its Second European Mi Store in Madrid
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Back in May 2015, Xiaomi had launched the online store in the U.S and Europe for selling its accessories. However, the company is now getting better with the patent licensing and might soon bring its Mi smartphones to the Western world. Today, the company has taken the official Twitter and Facebook accounts of Xiaomi Spain (Mi España) live. Both the Facebook and Twitter accounts are yet to be verified. Till now, Xiaomi has posted only the welcome message which translates to “Spain, are you ready for Xiaomi?”
The company is yet to announce its plan for the Spanish smartphone market. Apart from entering the Spanish market, Xiaomi might also open its second European Mi store in the Xanadu shopping mall in Madrid, where one of the Apple Stores is already located. Earlier this year, the company launched its first-ever Mi store in Europe in Golden Hall of Athens, Greece. A few weeks back, the Spanish version of the Mi Home was launched both on Google’s Play Store and Apple App Store.
The first Mi store in the Western Europe is expected to be opened in the month of November. As of now, the Xiaomi smartphones are sold in Spain through resellers who mostly don’t provide any warranty. The rumors suggest the company might offer two years of manufacturers warranty on all its products. Almost three years after starting its operations in India, Xiaomi launched the first Mi Home store in India in May this year. Within just six months, the Xiaomi India has already opened eight Mi Home stores.
The latest Mi Store was inaugurated a couple of weeks back in Mumbai. In an interview given to CNBC, one of the Xiaomi’s Vice President revealed the company’s plan of opening more than 2000 new stores globally in the next three years. With the huge success of its online exclusive business model, the company is now trying to enter the offline market. We expect to see the majority of the stores in the Asian markets where the company has captured the decent market share through online sales.
