Micromax Now Partners with Vodafone to Launch Bharat 2 Ultra 4G Smartphone for Rs 999 Effectively

You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

After the launch of JioPhone, all the major incumbent operators have announced to bring their own low-cost mobile phone. Airtel and Karbonn partnered to launch the low-cost Karbonn A40 Indian 4G smartphone with a Rs 169 special unlimited 4G plan. The state-owned BSNL partnered with Micromax to bring the Bharat 1 4G VoLTE-enabled feature phone with a Rs 97 unlimited 3G plan. Earlier, there are rumors suggested that Idea and Vodafone might combinedly launch a new low-cost 4G phone in India.

Today, Vodafone and Micromax launched the new Bharat 2 Ultra 4G smartphone for Rs. 2,899. However, the company will be offering a total of Rs. 1,900 as a cashback after the first three years of usage, which brings the effective price of the Bharat 2 Ultra to just Rs. 999. Just like Jio 4G and Airtel, the Vodafone users also need to continuously recharge at least Rs 150 monthly for 36 months to be eligible for the cashback. The users will get the cashback of Rs 900 credited into their M-Pesa wallets after the first 18 months and the remaining Rs 1000 after the next 18 months.

Unlike Jio and Airtel, Vodafone hasn’t announced any special unlimited 4G plans for the Bharat 2 Ultra 4G smartphone users. Talking about the device, the Bharat 2 Ultra is the same Bharat 2 that launched earlier this year. It comes with a 4-inch WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) display and is powered by 32-bit Spreadtrum SC9832 quad-core processor. The smartphone packs just 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage that can be expandable up to 32GB via a MicroSD card. It still runs on the two years old Android 6.0Marshmallow out of the box.

The device supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G VoLTE connectivity. It also includes a 2MP rear camera, 0.3MP front camera, and 1300mAh battery. The Micromax Bharat 2 Ultra 4G will be available starting November across India.
