Google Pixel 2 & Pixel 2 XL Issues

Last week, Google started shipping the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL devices in the U.S. Now, the users are reporting some serious issues on both the devices. The Pixel 2 XL featuring the LG’s OLED display is causing screen burn-in and blue tilt issues. On the other hand, both the Pixel 2 devices are producing the clicking sound which can be partially disabled by turning off the NFC. The users also experiencing a high-pitch sound while on calls.

Huawei Shipped 100 Million Smartphones in First Three Quarters of 2017

Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, announced that they have shipped more than 100 million smartphones in the first three quarters of 2017. Compared to last year, it has achieved 19% year-on-year. The company now has around 42,300 retail outlets across the globe. Since the newly launched Mate 10 and Met 10 Pro will go on sale from November, we expect even better growth by the end of this year. Huawei is currently the largest smartphone brand in China, the world’s largest smartphone market.

Free Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Smartphones

Samsung Spain has surprised passengers on the Iberia flight from Madrid to A Coruña by giving away 200 Galaxy Note 8 devices for free. The message on the letter handed out along with the free device translates to “A year ago we asked you to turn it off, we welcome you today on board.” Last year’s Galaxy Note 7 was banned on flights, after several reports of battery explosions. However, the new Galaxy Note 8 was the company’s best selling device in the Galaxy Note series.

Google Pixel 3 & Pixel 3 XL Codenames Leaked

Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are yet to be launched here in India. Now, we are already seeing leaks about the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL devices. According to Droid Life, one of the Pixel 3 devices will be codenamed as “crosshatch.” As seen with the earlier launched Pixel devices, Google continues to use the names of sea creatures as the codenames for its hardware products. The “albacore” and “blueline” might be the codenames for two other Pixel smartphones.

Amkette EVO TV 3 4K STB Launched in India

Amkette Launched its latest Android-based STB called as EVO TV 3 4K for Rs 7,999 in India. As the name suggests, it supports HDR and Ultra HD 4K playback along with 7.1 surround sound output. It packs 64-bit Quad Core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 8GB of expandable storage. It also works with the Evo Gamepad for playing games wirelessly on the big screen. The company is also including the improved Air Remote with the built-in 6-axis Gyroscope.

Google Lens Update “Rolls Out” for First-gen Pixel devices

Google introduced the new Google Lens feature in the Google Photos app on Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL devices. Now, the company is rolling out the same feature for Pixel and Pixel XL devices through an update. However, the 2016 Pixel owners still can’t access the Google Lens feature through Google Assistant. As of now, the Google Lens is exclusive to the Pixel devices.

Reliance Digital TV to Shut Down on November 18th

Reliance Digital TV, the DTH brand from Reliance Communications might shut down its operations from November 18th. It currently has over 5 million subscribers and its license will expire the end of next month. Apart from the advertisement in the regional newspaper, the company is yet to issue the official statement. Earlier the merger talks have taken place between the Reliance Digital TV and Sun Direct.
