Meizu is long rumored to launch its smartphone with 18:9 display. We have also seen few leaks about the Meizu M6s in the past. Today, the company confirmed to launch a new smartphone on January 4th in China with the new 18:9 display technology. Meizu is rumored to launch high-end Meizu 15 and Meizu 15 Pro smartphones in early 2018. However, the upcoming device will be launched under the new mBlu series which is said to replace the affordable M-series (a.k.a Charm Blue).

The device will be available in three different variants with the model numbers M712Q, M712C, and M712M. It will be available in Black, Gold, Rose Gold, Blue, and Red color options. The upcoming mBlu smartphone sports a metal unibody design with a 2.5D curved glass on the front. It comes with a 5.7-inch display with Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It will be running on Android Nougat based Flyme OS.

The fingerprint sensor along with power button will be placed on the right side of the device. The mBack button is recently spotted in the FlymeOS 7 beta version, and the user can also choose the color of the virtual button. It is backed by a 2,930mAh non-removable battery and might include fast charging support.

It measures 152×72.54×8.0 mm and supports dual SIM dual standby. Based on the rumors, it might come powered by Samsung’s Exynos 7872 hexa-core processor. The smartphone will be available in 3GB and 4GB RAM variants with 32GB and 64GB storage options.
