LG’s Upcoming Flagship Smartphone to Launch as LG G7 ThinQ
Instead of launching a new flagship smartphone at the MWC 2018, LG came up with an upgraded variant of the last year’s LG V30 smartphone. This new device is named as LG V30S ThinQ and included the AI-centric camera features. The company introduced the ThinQ brand in December 2017 for launching the products with AI features. With the LG G7, the company seems to integrate the flagship devices within the ThinQ brand.
While the information came from the reliable leakster Evan Blass, the company is yet to confirm the name change. However, there are earlier leaks suggesting the company might launch its new flagship smartphone with a new name. Based on the leaks from Korea, LG is said to launch the LG G7 ThinQ in April. It will first go on sale in South Korea starting mid-May. We might see two variants of the upcoming LG flagship smartphone.
It is said to sport dual rear cameras with f/1.5 aperture and will also be a dedicated AI button. While the LG V30S ThinQ smartphones came with Snapdragon 835 chipset, the LG G7 ThinQ will be powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset. Talking about the build quality, it will come with metal frame and glass back body. As seen on earlier launched LG smartphones, the fingerprint sensor will be integrated into the power button.
The device will be running on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. The AI features seen on the LG V30S ThinQ should also be offered with its upcoming smartphone. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details.
